Plum (Prunus domestica) is a fast-growing deciduous fruit tree producing sweet, juicy stone fruits in red, purple, and yellow varieties. Begins bearing within 2–3 years of grafting. Annual yield of 20–40 kg per tree at maturity. Fruits are rich in antioxidants, Vitamin C, and dietary fibre. Excellent fresh market and processing potential (jams, dried prunes). Suited for temperate and sub-tropical hill regions.
