Olive (Olea europaea) is a drought-tolerant Mediterranean tree producing commercially valuable fruits for oil extraction and table consumption. Extremely long-lived (500+ years) with minimal maintenance once established. Single tree yields 20–40 kg of olives annually. Premium olive oil commands ₹800–2,000/litre in Indian markets. Suited for arid and semi-arid regions of Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Himachal Pradesh.
