Cashew (Anacardium occidentale) is India's leading export nut crop with the country processing over 50% of the world's raw cashew. High-yielding commercial varieties produce 8–12 kg of raw nuts per tree annually. Additional income from cashew apple processing (feni, juice, jam). Thrives in tropical coastal regions with well-drained laterite soils. Planting spacing: 7m × 7m for commercial orchards.
