Casuarina (Casuarina equisetifolia) is an extremely fast-growing nitrogen-fixing tree reaching harvestable size in 4–5 years. Primary uses include pulpwood, construction poles, fuelwood, and coastal windbreaks. Yields 25–30 tonnes of wood per hectare per rotation. Salt and wind tolerant—excellent for coastal plantations. Minimal investment crop with guaranteed paper mill buyback. India's most planted short-rotation forestry species.
